Providence Mennonite Church
The Willing Workers

The Willing Workers Sewing Circle...

Consists of church and community ladies who meet on the second Wednesday of each month (September/June) beginning at 10 AM. They make quilts, comforters, baby clothing, etc. These items are donated to the Red Cross, Peninsula Crisis Pregnancy Center, Mennonite Disaster Service, and others.

Ongoing Mission Projects

Sponsored by the Willing Workers is Project E.N.K. (Emergency Necessity Kits) Items collected are: combs, toothbrushes, toothpaste, and soap. Kits are put together and often given to the Red Cross and Mennonite Disaster Service to help victims of disasters such as hurricanes, flooding, etc.

Souper Bowl of Caring

Every year for the last 15 years Providence has participated in the SOUPER BOWL OF CARING. This mission project takes place on Super Bowl Sunday. Donations are collected that Sunday morning and donated to our local Peninsula Food Bank where each dollar collected pays for 4 meals for the homeless and hungry.  For more information about the "Souper Bowl of Caring" visit their website at:

See how you or your organization can become a part of this wonderful ministry to help feed the hungry. This is a great activity for youth.  Groups all over the country participate.  So no matter where you live, you can help to Tackle Hunger!
