We
believe that God is the creator and sustainer of the universe and that
He sent His son, Jesus, to live among us, to give his life as a
sacrifice for our sins, and to be raised from the dead. We believe that
after Jesus ascended into heaven, God sent the Holy Spirit to live
within each believer to comfort, guide and empower us to live for Him.
We believe that the Bible is the authoritative word of God.
Community:
Worshiping as a community of believers, we study the Bible to learn what God is saying to the church today.
Adult Baptism:
Mennonites practice adult, or "believer's" baptism. Baptism symbolizes
God's grace washing away our sin through Jesus' death on the cross. At
baptism, people make a public commitment to identify with and follow
Jesus.
Peace and Love:
Mennonites believe that Jesus, when he lived on earth, revealed a way
for people to live peaceably and nonviolently. Mennonites believe in
giving ultimate loyalty to God rather than to the nations in which they
live, or to the military.
Helping Others:
As members of the body of Christ, Mennonites aspire to follow the
example and words of Jesus Christ in everyday life, including caring
for the spiritual, emotional, and physical needs of others.
Reaching Out:
Mennonites strive to be obedient to the words of Jesus, sharing the
Good News of salvation with persons throughout the world.
